Film

These photos are of the short narrative film 1620 Market Street. I was given the opportunity to make this film with my friend Saturo Kitagawa. My inspiration for my lighting design came from the film Bladerunner and the painter Rembrandt. I hope you enjoy these pics.

Rich Wender playing the character Uzi, the bad guy. I had fun with the composition using warm and cool colors of light.

Kenny Sonoda's character was the crime boss.

I am thankful that Nia Cavagnaro was so patient, it gave me the opportunity to really paint with the light.

Nia being beautiful in blue.

The suggested one night stand. To create the moonlight I hung a 500 watt light by rope to the window frame. I couldn't use a tripod because we were on the third floor.

Nia on her way out.

These next few pictures are of my short poetic film, Tropics. I used reversal film and hand processed it. All of the effects were done in the camera.

With reversal film the blacks are really rich and the whites glow.

This shot is one of the many expressionistic landscapes.

The talented Sage with her amazing performance.
