These photos are of the short narrative film 1620 Market Street. I was given the opportunity to make this film with my friend Saturo Kitagawa. My inspiration for my lighting design came from the film Bladerunner and the painter Rembrandt. I hope you enjoy these pics.
Rich Wender playing the character Uzi, the bad guy. I had fun with the composition using warm and cool colors of light. |
Kenny Sonoda's character was the crime boss. |
I am thankful that Nia Cavagnaro was so patient, it gave me the opportunity to really paint with the light. |
Nia being beautiful in blue. |
The suggested one night stand. To create the moonlight I hung a 500 watt light by rope to the window frame. I couldn't use a tripod because we were on the third floor. |
Nia on her way out. |

These next few pictures are of my short poetic film, Tropics. I used reversal film and hand processed it. All of the effects were done in the camera.
With reversal film the blacks are really rich and the whites glow. |
This shot is one of the many expressionistic landscapes. |
The talented Sage with her amazing performance. |
